MXBON Sponsors Yoshitomo Nara Exhibition in Chiayi

Cartell Chemical Co., Ltd. (MXBON®), headquartered in Chiayi, is honored to serve as the official philanthropic sponsor of the internationally renowned Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara’s A Foggy and Humid Day – Chiayi Taiwan–Japan Friendship Touring Exhibition.

The Chiayi exhibition will open on December 12, 2025, at Warehouse No. 25 of the Xinguang Cultural Center. The event is jointly organized by the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC), the Yoshitomo Nara Foundation, Chiayi County Government, and the Chiayi County Bureau of Culture and Tourism—marking one of the most anticipated cultural highlights in Chiayi at the end of the year.

The exhibition revolves around the theme “Travel Together,” featuring Yoshitomo Nara’s Taiwan-created artwork A Foggy and Humid Day as the main visual, combined with the cloud-sea imagery of Chiayi’s Ali Mountain Taiping Cloud Ladder. This visual narrative symbolizes a cross-regional, emotionally rich artistic journey from Taiwan to Japan, and from the creator to the audience.

The exhibition showcases a diverse range of works, including paintings, sketches, and photography. Of particular note is the first public presentation of the reinterpreted classic piece Withered Flower (2020 Version), which has captured widespread attention across Taiwan’s art community, offering visitors a chance to experience the subtle emotional depth characteristic of Nara’s work.

MXBON® has deep roots in Chiayi and upholds the belief that “a corporation is an integral part of society.” We are committed to supporting local cultural development, arts education, and community initiatives. Our sponsorship of Yoshitomo Nara’s Chiayi exhibition reflects MXBON®’s dedication to cultural sustainability and our desire to help more people engage with the arts, appreciate Chiayi’s urban aesthetics, and connect with the stories embedded in this land.

MXBON® expressed: Supporting an international-level art exhibition in Chiayi is not only an honor but also a meaningful contribution to local culture. Through our efforts, we hope more families, schools, and young people will be encouraged to explore the arts and allow creativity to flourish in our hometown.

With an exhibition period spanning five months, Chiayi represents one of the most significant stops among the five-city touring project. MXBON® warmly invites the public from all regions to visit during the exhibition period, experience the heartfelt creativity of Yoshitomo Nara, and discover the beauty and cultural vitality of Chiayi.
